Goldpin Sweepstakes

The “Goldpin Sweepstakes” is a phantom singles tournament conducted by Goldpin Victoria, consequently, standard league rules may not apply. However, general playing rules applicable to competitive bowling will be applied at all times.

All Goldpin Victoria and affiliated centres are welcome to conduct the Phantom Sweepstakes.

The Phantom Sweepstakes is open to all bowlers competing in Goldpin centres.

*REGISTRATION – bowlers may register at the Goldpin centre of their choice. All games must be bowled in the centre of registration. Registrations will be accepted up to and including week five, provided all fees are paid and games are bowled. Registrations will not be accepted after the commencement of week six.

Multiple entries are not permitted.

*SEASON – the season is 40 weeks, commencing in March each year.

*FORMAT - 3 game series is bowled each week. Scratch scores plus handicap will accumulate weekly. There are no “matches” as such. Games may be bowled over one or two lanes.

*SANCTION – This event will be sanctioned in line with Goldpin Victoria tournament policy.

*WEEKLY FEE – The weekly fee payable is $20.00

*TOURNAMENT & CONDITIONS

* AVERAGES – after the completion of week five, all averages will be calculated weekly.

*HANDICAPS – will be calculated as 100% of 220 with a negative to apply to averages over 220.

There will not be a maximum handicap.

*STANDINGS - Positions will be determined by the total of scratch scores plus handicap on a weekly basis.

NOTE - as new bowlers may join up to and including week five, standings for the first five weeks will be provisional.

*PRE – POST BOWLING – Pre-bowling is permitted at will – provided all fees are paid at the time of bowling. Post-Bowling is NOT PERMITTED after week five.

*WITHDRAWALS – should a bowler withdraw from this event – for any reason whatsoever – all fees paid and prize eligibility will be forfeited. There will be no replacement – positions cannot be transferred – substitutes are not permitted.

*STANDING SHEETS - On Wednesday weekly the tournament secretary will e-mail or fax the current standings to each centre.

Standing sheets will be issued weekly from week five onwards.

PRIZEFUND – Prize fund is based on the number of entries but is anticipated to be approximately $40000-00 each season.
